چکیده
Background: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is one of the most common complications in cirrhosis with ascites, which associated a high mortality. Various studies have shown that prevalence PBS ranges from 20-30% patients and ascites. Not all cases it accompanied by obvious symptoms, makes early diagnosis difficult. Aim: The aims this study were to assess risk factors alcohoolic liver cirrhosis. Methodology: This retrospective study, considers diagnosed admitted our hospital during 2018-2021. Diagnosis based on European Association for Study Liver (EASL) guidelines. divided into two groups, PBS, without PBS. Data collection consists filling out standard form each patient, which contained information about diagnosis, degree function damage evaluated Child-Pough score MELD score, clinical laboratory indicators ascitic fluid analyses. All categorical variables analised using SPSS version 25, t-test used continuous date. Results: average age included was 54.15 ± 12.5 years, while according gender, there 112 males (97.3%) 3 females (2.7%). Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis and Bacteremia in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis
Patients with Liver Cirrhosis (LC) are at high risk of developing bacterial infections. Pathological bacterial translocation has been implicated as an important cause of bacterial infection in patients with LC, and Spontaneous Bacterial Peritonitis (SBP) and bacteremia are common and often fatal bacterial infections in these patients. Moreover, the incidence of hepatorenal syndrome is associate...
متن کاملPrevalence of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in liver cirrhosis with ascites
OBJECTIVE The study was designed to elucidate the correlation of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) with aetiology of liver cirrhosis, overall mortality, ascitic fluid and systemic microbial infections. METHODS Sixty three patients with cirrhosis of the liver were included in this study. These patients were diagnosed on the basis of clinical evaluation, biochemical investigation, ultraso...

متن کاملSpontaneous bacterial peritonitis.
Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a common, serious complication in patients with cirrhosis and ascites. It is a bacterial infection of ascitic fluid in the absence of an adjacent, surgically amenable infection source. Since its description in 1964 (1) numerous studies, guidelines, and both national and international consensus conferences have brought significant advancement to the dia...

Since its initial description in 1964, research has transformed spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) from a feared disease (with reported mortality of 90%) to a treatable complication of decompensated cirrhosis, albeit with steady prevalence and a high recurrence rate. Bacterial translocation, the key mechanism in the pathogenesis of SBP, is only possible because of the concurrent failure of...
